Our Great Kiwi Morning Tea was amazing! We raised $820 for our kiwi, our National Icon. A huge thank you to Mrs Carr, our amazing organiser; Dom, our inspiration; Rimu Whanau, our genius bakers; and Parkvale School, our amazing supporters. You all made it happen! Today we received an email (including a thank you video) from Kiwis for Kiwi.
I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone at Parkvale School for your amazing efforts and raising $820 with the Great Kiwi Morning Tea. That's just brilliant!
I did a little video to say thank you if you'd like to show it to your students. Please find attached.
Your receipt and certificate are in the post.
Thank you again for your fantastic support.
Best regards,
Sarah

The best thing about the video is that Sarah Nutbrown shared that our $820 will protect eight kiwis for a year. Wow!
Tomorrow is the Great Kiwi Morning Tea. Rimu will have a cake stall. Baking will cost from 50c to $2 (depending on the item). All the money is going towards helping save the kiwi: “to help protect kiwi and the places they live. Because we can’t imagine New Zealand without kiwi.” Here's a preview of our wonderful goodies for tomorrows bake sale. So many choices and I think there's more to come. Thank you to our great Rimu Whanau for their efforts, everything looks delicious.
Here is our assembly item from last week. The students enjoyed performing and the rest of us enjoyed watching. Well done to Keighan, Liske, Victoria, Ruby, Bella, Brayden, Khushi and Jodi who wrote the script with the talented Mrs Carr! Their script is below the video.

Narrators: What do teachers do after school?
What do teachers do when the bell rings at quarter to three
When you hurry home so glad to be free
When the classrooms are hushed and the hallways are too
When everyone’s gone what do teachers do.
(ALL TEACHERS WAVING)
Do they start to play sports?
(Taylah M and Skyla step forward, Skyla blows the whistle and they start passing the ball)
Do Mrs Miller and Mrs Love jump to the courts
for a friendly game of netball?
Or does Mr M race to staffroom in a blink
for game of basketball in the sink?
(MAC is pretending to shoot the basketball into the sink (Bucket))
Or will we see Mr Ford
Out on the pitch
Juggling soccer balls over a ditch?
(Mitch Steps forward soccer tricks)
Or will we see Miss Major, Mrs England and Mrs Kelly
doing cartwheels, handsprings with legs that are jelly
We had a fantastic Rippa Rugby season in term one. We had four teams playing in the Learners League and and eight teams in the Championship. Parkvale PRIDE was on display every Friday after school. The Championship results are below - congratulations to the Lakers and Miss Pohe for winning the Cup; also to the Celtics and Mr and Mrs Lowe for receiving the Plate as our runner-ups.
