Funday Fun!

Congratulations to the super hard working students who got to participate in Funday Thursday last week. We had a great day doing lots of activities, including pizza making, competitions and concrete game design.

We made some pizzas using a scone dough base and topped them with the toppings that we liked. It was delicious!

The Drop Zone.

The kids were given a challenge to design and  create a way for a water balloon to be dropped off the wooden playground and land without popping. There was lots of planning and working together, and 3 out of 4 groups managed to do the challenge successfully! Well done everyone!

Postcards: Term 2, Week 3

Here are our amazing Postcard winners from week three. They have been stretching their learning muscles.

George has been managing distractions well and made a special effort with all his learning.

Maia continues to be a year four learning superstar; showing absorption in her learning tasks. She has also stepped up and made a huge contribution to the kapa haka.

Benjamin also continues to be a year four learning superstar. He is getting stuck into his learning tasks and showing perseverance.

PRIDE Awards: Term 2, Week 3

Here are our superstar P.R.I.D.E. awards from last week. They are all superb role models for our school. They all show integrity and enjoyment in their learning!

Next week's PRIDE assembly will feature an item from Rimu Hub. I wonder what that will be. I wonder who will win the PRIDE awards...

Postcards: Term 2, Week 2

Here are our stunning postcard winners from the second week in Term 2. All three are outstanding role models for Rimu Hub and Parkvale School. They also really show the E for Enjoyment in Parkvale PRIDE; as well as the I for Integrity in their learning.

Brayden is a great leader for our hub and school. He enjoys his learning and gives everything a go, while always being kind to others.

Mya is a motivated Year 5 student who knows her own learning. She has a great sense of humour too. The force is strong in this one.

Liske is another great leader for our hub and school. She tackles all challenges with a happy smile and has been especially helpful and kind to others lately.

PRIDE Awards: Term 2, Week 1

Here are our superstar P.R.I.D.E. winners from Week 1 in Term 2. It was a great start to the week. These three got their PRIDE awards for different reasons. It was a real treat to get to see them step up to the stage and receive them. Kia kaha, Jessica, Bella-Marie and Keagan!

Look at our proud postcard winners! These three sure deserved their postcards; they're great role models for Rimu Hub.

Mac is shining as an independent and collaborative learner. His questioning and sharing help himself and others to learn better.

Jodi is a role model for others in Rimu Hub. She knows her own learning, tries super hard and is always kind to others.

Cameron has started the term with a super-positive attitude to learning. He is managing his distractions well.

Pride Awards Term 1 Week 11

I am very sorry that this post was forgotten about at the end of last term. In Week 11, we had three of our fabulous students receive the P.R.I.D.E. award. All three, have shown Parkvale PRIDE in action.

Rippa Rugby Championship

We had a fantastic Rippa Rugby season in term one. We had four teams playing in the Learners League and and eight teams in the Championship. Parkvale PRIDE was on display every Friday after school. The Championship results are below - congratulations to the Lakers and Miss Pohe for winning the Cup; also to the Celtics and Mr and Mrs Lowe for receiving the Plate as our runner-ups.
